Jean-Baptiste Charcot
Jean-Baptiste Charcot, also born in 1867, was the only son of internationally renowned neurologist and expert on hysteria Jean-Martin Charcot. He waited until his illustrious father’s death to follow his childhood passion for the sea and exploration, becoming France’s most famous Antarctic explorer.
